Jessica Ellen Cornish (also known as Jessie J) is an English artist and singer. Jessie was first noticed for her unique style of music that incorporates soul vocals with hip-hop, pop and electropop. In addition to her many awards, she has been nominated to receive the 2011 "Critics' Choice Brit Awards" and for the BBC's Sound of 2011". The career of Jessie began at the age of 11 as Andrew Lloyd Webber cast her as a character in the musical Whistle Down the Wind. After that, she was a part of the National Youth Music Theater and appeared in their 2002 show"The Late Sleepers,". She came into prominence in 2011, with her first album of studio work 'Who You Are,' which was released on February 28. In the UK in particular the album was sold at 105,000 units, and in the US it was sold at 34,000. The album debuted at the number 2 on the UK Albums Chart' as well at number 11 on the 'US Billboard 200.' Jessie is also famous for her work with charities and is involved with charities like 'Children in Need' and 'Comic Relief.'
